AP US History Final Project

AP US History Final Project

1.     Pick a group of 3-5 people (no more than that)
2.     Decide on a topic in US History
a.     Pick something of interest (i.e. the bicycle)
b.     It really can be anything (school appropriate) 
3.    Your video must include:
a.     Historical Facts (quite a few of these)
b.     Historical Context (what was going on in America at the time)
c.      Historical Pictures
d.     Narration (that is understandable)
e.     Accuracy
f.      Creativity
g.     3-5 minutes long
h.   Citations at the end
4.     Additional Requirement-- research/fact sheet that you use, citations, script of your video (or at least outline your video)
5.     To create your video use the following tools:
a.     Adobe Spark
b.     Your Cellphone
c.      YouTube Video Editor https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=43Nvd12yqxU
d.     The Chromebooks don’t have other video editing programs, you can bring your own laptop if you have your own (But you won’t have Wifi).
e.     If you ask the sub, she might be able to find a Macbook or two so you could use IMovie
f.      ***Editing takes the most work, so if you use a complicated tool and your video product looks amazing, Ms. Schmoldt might award the editor extra credit.

                                               i.     Explain events, professors, re-enactments
b.     Ken-Burns Mini Documentary
                                               i.     Mostly just pictures and explanations

                                               i.     Make your own Crash Course video (pick a smaller topic than he does)
                                              ii.     Use a similar format (mystery doc, silly jokes, pictures, fast talking)
                                            iii.     Ms. Schmoldt’s WWII Home front Crash Course
d.     Music Video
                                               i.     Take a popular song, change the words to reflect historical events

HOMEWORK Take Home Test

Your homework is to finish a practice test by April 25th (odd) or 26th (even).


  • You may work with a partner.
  • Spend 55 minutes.
  • You may choose to do the multiple choice test, the DBQ, or both the SAQ and LEQ
    • Of course, doing them all would be to your advantage.
  • No researching questions (No book or internet while taking the test)

Turn in your answer sheet or your essay for points.

You must take at least one of the following:
  1. Multiple Choice Test- 55 minutes
  2. DBQ- 55 minutes
  3. LEQ -35 minutes plus 4 SAQs - 40 minutes
